L'alga spirulina, consumata soprattutto in polvere, è un vero e proprio super food ma ha un apporto energetico pari a 290 calorie circa all'etto, ha proprietà benefiche come una forte presenza di calcio e di grassi buoni come omega 3 e omega 6.
Anche le patate fritte, come è noto, sono tra le verdure più calorie: 218 per ogni etto di prodotto. Se le si prepara con attenzione e si modera l'assunzione non fanno male: è importante scegliere l'olio con il punto di fumo più alto - quello extra vergine di oliva - e mantenere costante la temperatura di cottura.
I borlotti, bolliti e senza sale, contengono circa 162 calorie all'etto. I fagioli borlotti sono particolarmente apprezzati per via della loro ricchezza di proteine, calcio e potassio.
La manioca, radice originaria del Brasile, presenta un apporto energetico di 160 calorie all'etto. Va consumata esclusivamente cotta. Priva di glutine è quindi adatta ai celiaci e rappresenta una buona fonte di potassio.
