Tutti la chiamano beach walking, ma noi preferiamo usare l'italiano per raccontare i benefici della camminata sportiva in versione marina.
Di cosa si tratta?
Di una passeggiata a passo veloce però sulla sabbia o in battigia. Spesso in spiaggia oltre la nuotata (per chi sa farlo) non si va. Si resta a galleggiare o a prendere il sole sull'asciugamano. Ed è per questo che gli esperti la consigliano come un ottimo modo per mantenersi in movimento.
Questa camminata sulla sabbia ha dei vantaggi che non ha quella sulla strada. La sabbia, ossia il terreno più molle, favorisce il sistema cardiovascolare migliorando il flusso sanguigno, libera le endorfine, ci aiuta a liberarci dallo stress, regalandoci un senso di tranquillità e di benessere fisico e mentale.
C'è anche un altro beneficio, quello plantare. Il fatto di camminare scalzi su una superficie irregolare coinvolge intensamente la muscolatura del piede.
E' più faticosa, certo, ma fa molto bene e fa bruciare più calorie richiedendo un po' di sforzo in più.
Il modo corretto per praticarla
Per rendere efficace lo sforzo e non farsi male occorre come sempre tenere una postura eretta. Per bruciare più calorie si consiglia di camminare a passo svelto senza fermarsi per almeno quindici minuti. Meglio procedere con gradualità soprattutto se non si è allenati. Se possibile, sarebbe ottimale farla tre volte a settimana per più di venti minuti.
Altro suggerimento: meglio iniziare la camminata sulla sabbia compatta del bagnasciuga, e solo dopo qualche minuto, spostarsi sulla sabbia asciutta.
Il consumo energetico
Possiamo dire che è buono! Restando a una velocità di 5-6 chilometri all'ora si possono consumare circa 600 calorie in un'ora.
Anche la camminata in acqua è consigliata e si può alternare a quella in spiaggia. Infatti farlo con l’acqua alle caviglie o ai polpacci, oltre a intensificare all’esercizio, massaggia i piedi e la parte inferiore delle gambe, con un benefico effetto sulla circolazione sanguigna e linfatica. La camminata in acqua ha effetti positivi anche sulla pressione sanguigna e fa bruciare più calorie, favorendo la perdita di peso. Il fatto di essere parzialmente immersi nell'acqua, inoltre, contribuisce ad abbassare la temperatura corporea, facendo avvertire meno il caldo della giornata.
Ulteriori benefici
Camminare in riva al mare ci permette di inalare aria marina, e questo è ottimo per il sistema respiratorio. Fa bene alle ossa perché assumiamo naturalmente la vitamina D e ovviamente anche all'umore.
Ovviamente non scordate mai la protezione solare e un cappello per scongiurare i colpi di sole.
