Gambe belle e in salute sono il sogno di tutte le donne. Con le alte temperature, tuttavia, le gambe soffrono, diventando gonfie e pesanti e pesanti diventano anche piedi e caviglie mentre a causa della cattiva circolazione si avvertono prurito e formicolio, segno di insufficienza venosa e fragilità capillare.
“Tali condizioni” spiega Assosalute , l’associazione nazionale farmaci di automedicazione di Federchimica “sono generalmente dovute a un ristagno di sangue nelle vene o di liquidi nei vasi linfatici che determina la comparsa dei sintomi. Essi si manifestano soprattutto la sera, specialmente al termine di una giornata faticosa, oppure quando si rimane seduti o in piedi per lungo tempo. Anche viaggiare per molte ore, costretti in una posizione scomoda, favorisce l’insorgenza del dolore e del gonfiore alle gambe che diventano più frequenti e fastidiosi proprio d’estate, quando le temperature e l’umidità favoriscono la dilatazione delle vene degli arti inferiori”.
A scatenare l’effetto gambe pesanti è anche la variazione ormonale che colpisce più le donne che gli uomini, in particolare le donne in gravidanza complici anche l’aumento di peso e la pressione esercitata dal bambino, spiega Assosalute, che ha, pertanto, pensato ad alcuni consigli per gambe leggere e in salute.
Movimento
L’attività fisica è amica della circolazione sanguigna. L’ideale è praticarla almeno 2 o 3 volte la settimana. Particolarmente consigliati sono jogging, bicicletta, trekking, quindi il nuoto che, oltre a tonificare la muscolatura delle gambe, spiega Assosalute, migliora la circolazione grazie al “massaggio naturale dell’acqua”. Evitare, quando possibile, l’ascensore e l’automobile, preferendole una camminata “di buon passo” almeno mezz’ora al giorno: “Camminare, infatti, favorisce il mantenimento di un buon ritorno venoso poiché si attiva la pompa muscolare che spinge il sangue verso il cuore.”
Stile di vita
Il sovrappeso è nemico dell’insufficienza venosa a causa di un più forte schiacciamento dei vasi sanguigni. Aiuterà, pertanto, una dieta equilibrata povera di grassi, ricca di frutta e verdura - in particolare rossa poiché “ricca di sostanze capillaroprotettrici” -, legumi e cereali che, spiega Assosalute, grazie alle fibre “aiutano il transito intestinale, combattendo il gonfiore”. Occhio agli alcoolici e, in particolare, al sale che “facilita il ristagno venoso e favorisce l’aumento della pressione, contribuendo a peggiorare i sintomi dell’insufficienza venosa”.
Posizione
Una stessa posizione mantenuta a lungo peggiora l’insufficienza venosa. “Se si è impegnati in un’attività che costringe a stare a lungo fermi, in piedi” spiega Assosalute “il consiglio è di far lavorare le caviglie sollevandosi sulle punte, almeno per due minuti ogni ora. Se, invece, si rimane a lungo seduti, si dovrebbero sollevare le gambe almeno per un quarto d’ora, tre volte al giorno, oltre ad utilizzare una pedana poggiapiedi”.
Un errore, infine, è quello di accavallare le gambe, mentre il consiglio è “di abituarsi a fare due passi ogni tanto per riattivare la circolazione”.
Riposo
Riposare con le gambe sollevate favorisce la “risalita del sangue al cuore”, evitando la “stasi circolatoria”, spiega Assosalute che consiglia, ad esempio, di inclinare il letto o sollevare il materasso, ad esempio, collocandovi sotto un cuscino per far sì che “i piedi siano più alti rispetto al cuore”.
Tacchi alti
Le scarpe con tacchi troppo alti, in particolare se indossate a lungo, ostacolano il ritorno venoso poiché non seguono la “curvatura naturale del piede”. Se non si vuole rinunciare ai tacchi, optare per un “tacco comodo e di pochi centimetri” spiega Assosalute che ricorda come le calzature, oltre a non soffocare il piede, non debbano essere né troppo basse né troppo alte.
Indumenti e calze elastiche
Ostacolano la corretta circolazione anche gli indumenti “troppo fasciati” poiché nel costringere l’addome, spiega Assosalute, causano il ristagno del sangue nelle gambe. Oltre a scegliere le giuste calzature e i giusti indumenti, aiuteranno la circolazione venosa le calze elastiche: “La compressione esterna sulla gamba, infatti, contrasta l’aumento della pressione all’interno delle vene” spiega Assosalute “e accelera il flusso del sangue nei vasi oltre a restringere le vene dilatate”.
Idratazione
I liquidi sono importanti, Assosalute consiglia di berne in buona quantità durante la giornata, anche lontano dai pasti, per diluire il sangue, facilitandone, così, la risalita dalle gambe al cuore.
Doccia
Tra un bagno caldo e una doccia rinfrescante, aiuterà la seconda, questo perché il primo causa vasodilatazione, affaticando, spiega Assosalute, le pareti delle vene, mentre lavarsi con acqua corrente fresca o tiepida eserciterà “un’ottimale azione tonificante sulla circolazione”.
Massaggi
In caso di pesantezza e gonfiore delle gambe aiuteranno dei leggeri massaggi tanto quanto basta, spiega Assosalute, per dare sollievo e associandoli a un “getto di acqua tiepida”. Nessun beneficio apporteranno, al contrario, massaggi con azione “eccessivamente riscaldante”.
Farmaci di automedicazione
Contro gambe gonfie e fragilità capillare aiutaranno anche i farmaci di automedicazione. Per un “sollievo immediato” Assosalute consiglia quelli in crema o gel. Ci sono, poi, i farmaci in polvere o sotto forma di capsule o compresse che contribuiscono a ridurre il gonfiore agendo su circolazione e capillari venosi che proteggono, rendendoli maggiormente elastici. Questi farmaci, spiega Assosalute, offrono, infatti, all’organismo sostanze capillaro-protettrici a base di diosmina, anche in associazione, o di flavonoidi come oxerutina, troxerutina, mirtillina o, ancora, a base di composti tripterpenici come escina, ippocastano e centella.
