Ottime notizie per golosi e buongustai: pasta, peperoncino, cioccolato fondente e caffè sono cibi amici del cuore. Promossi a pieni voti, nella dieta mediterranea, anche le spezie e i carboidrati integrali. Le giuste dosi
'Gli alimenti, se scelti con cura e cucinati nella maniera giusta, sono i veri farmaci del futuro, soprattutto per il cuore', spiega Leonardo Calò, Direttore Uoc di Cardiologia del Policlinico Casilino e Presidente del Congresso Place. No, dunque, alla demonizzazione del caffè (fino a tre al giorno) e della cioccolata (anche 30-40 grammi al giorno purché fondente all'80-85%), che hanno ottimi effetti antiossidanti sull'apparato cardiovascolare. Inoltre si riconfermano super-food pane e pasta, preferibilmente integrali, di farro e di orzo. Hanno poi un effetto potentissimo sulla longevità l'uso di spezie e aromi come origano, capperi, cipolla rossa, pepe, curry, zenzero, basilico, prezzemolo.
Rosso come il cuore
Amici del cuore anche cibi e bevande rosse: i cardiologi promuovono vino rosso, frutti rossi-violacei, pomodoro, ancora meglio se cotto perché libera una sostanza che ha azione positiva anche per contrastare il cancro. Attenzione, invece, alle proteine animali (massimo 0,8 grammi per chilo di peso), al sale (da ridurre, se non da eliminare) e ai succedanei del pane come cracker e grissini che provocano un picco di insulina e fanno solo venire più fame.
Bocciato su tutta la linea lo zucchero, soprattutto quello contenuto nei cibi o nelle forme più raffinate: favorisce l'insorgenza di neoplasie e delle malattie del cuore.
