La recente tragedia di Giulia Cecchettin, la giovane studentessa di 22 anni uccisa dal suo ex fidanzato di 23 anni, ha riaperto il dibattito sulla violenza di genere e sui possibili fattori che la favoriscono o la contrastano. Tra questi, uno dei più discussi è il ruolo della musica trap, un genere musicale che spopola tra gli adolescenti e che spesso contiene testi espliciti, volgari e sessisti. L’attrice Cristiana Capotondi ha accusato la trap di fomentare la misoginia tra i ragazzi, sostenendo che la donna viene trattata come un oggetto e che questo influisce sulle relazioni sentimentali e sul rispetto reciproco. Il suo appello è stato appoggiato dal presidente della commissione Cultura della Camera, Federico Mollicone, che ha citato alcuni esempi di rapper famosi come Sfera Ebbasta o la Dark Polo Gang, rei di cantare la violenza e la deriva sessista.
I trapper si difendono
Ma la musica trap è davvero così monolitica e negativa? E soprattutto, è davvero una causa o una conseguenza della violenza sulle donne? A queste domande hanno cercato di rispondere alcuni esponenti del mondo trap e hip hop, che si sono sentiti attaccati da un'accusa forse troppo generalizzata. Il rapper napoletano Luché ha difeso la libertà di espressione artistica e ha ricordato che la donna è stata oggetto di fantasie e stereotipi sin dagli anni Ottanta, con le televisioni private e le veline. La rivista Esse, specializzata in musica trap e hip hop, ha invitato a fare un esame di coscienza come società, invece di dare la colpa alla musica, che non ha il compito di educare e formare i giovani. La rivista ha sottolineato che i bambini dovrebbero essere in grado di distinguere i diversi piani della realtà e della finzione, e che se la musica ha il potere di “plasmare” i ragazzini, è perché questi non hanno gli strumenti per farlo, a causa del fallimento delle strutture educative convenzionali, come la famiglia, la scuola e la politica.
Quanto contano le parole
Se è vero che il ruolo di queste strutture educative resta fondamentale, non si può che constatare che la musica trap non è un fenomeno omogeneo e univoco, ma contiene diverse sfumature e messaggi, che possono essere più o meno positivi, più o meno influenti, più o meno responsabili. Uno dei brani che vanno per la maggiore tra i ragazzi (Everyday - singolo di Takagi & Ketra con Anna, Shiva e Geolier, pubblicato il 13 ottobre 2023) ad esempio frasi del tipo: "Tu mi ammazzi solo perché parlo con lei. Voglio te, voglio te everyday. E diventi pazza quando torno alle sei. Voglio te, voglio te everyday. Ti ho detto basta, è vero, ma non mi basta e sclero". Un testo che all'indomani della tragedia che ha visto coinvolta Giulia Cecchettin mette i brividi ma non per questo si può dire che la canzone sia causa di violenza, quanto piuttosto una rappresentazione di una situazione già esistente e diffusa nella società. La canzone, infatti, non invita a essere violenti o sessisti, ma esprime una visione distorta e problematica dell’amore, che deriva da una mancanza di educazione, di comunicazione e di valori.
Un problema più profondo e complesso
E allora non si può negare che alcuni testi siano offensivi e degradanti (nel caso citato ad onor del vero è una donna che parla ad un uomo), e che questo possa avere un impatto negativo sui giovani ascoltatori. Ma non si può nemmeno ignorare che la musica trap sia anche un mezzo di espressione e di denuncia, che riflette le problematiche e le contraddizioni della società, e che può anche essere usata per sensibilizzare e informare. La musica trap, quindi, non è la radice del problema, ma una delle sue manifestazioni. Il problema è più profondo e complesso, e richiede un intervento educativo e culturale a tutti i livelli, per promuovere il rispetto, la parità e la non violenza tra uomini e donne.
Alcuni dati che inducono a riflettere
La violenza di genere tra gli adolescenti è certamente un fenomeno in aumento e preoccupante. E' un dato che molti ragazzi controllino in modo eccessivo il telefono della loro ragazza, ne limitino le scelte di vita, il vestiario, il tempo libero. Sono atteggiamenti che vengono confusi con l’interesse o l’amore, ma che rivelano una mancanza di rispetto e di fiducia. Gli esperti definiscono questo fenomeno “teen dating violence”, una realtà ancora poco nota e analizzata. Uno studio universitario, basato su un sondaggio fatto a più di 700 studenti delle scuole superiori in Friuli Venezia Giulia, ha scoperto che oltre il 10% delle ragazze, tra i 15 e i 19 anni, ha subito una forma di violenza nella relazione con un ragazzo della stessa età. Tutta colpa della trap? Purtroppo no.
